John Gilbrook

John Richard Gilbrook, 69, passed from this life Thursday, December 19, 2013. Born in Chelsea, MA, he was the son of the late John F. and Mary C. (Gartland) Gilbrook. John was a retired computer manager for the IBM Corp. He moved to Summerfield from Roswell, GA in 2003. John was a Roman Catholic and a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Belleview. He enjoyed travelling and playing golf. He was most proud of his marriage of 47 years to his wife Mary and their children. John leaves his wife Mary (Roach) Gilbrook, son, John R. Gilbrook, Jr. of Dallas, GA, daughters, Jill Thomas of Waukesha, WI, Julie Peterson of Acworth, GA, sisters, Regina Fernald of Plymouth, MA, Patricia McKay and Mary Peaseley both of Hull, MA, brothers, James Gilbrook of Rockland, MA, William Gilbrook of Hull, MA, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church 11528 SE Highway 301, Belleview at 10 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Church Soup Kitchen
