Joe Lev, who lived in West Hemmingway, of The Villages, FL, died on Saturday evening at Shands University of Florida (UF) Hospital in Gainesville after suffering a fall and a brain injury. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elise Lev, his children, Andrew Lev and Galit (Joyce) Lev-Harir and her husband, Elie Harir and three grandchildren, Eden, Amit and Liam Harir.
Joe was born on July 26, 1938, graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey in 1956 and earned his Bachelor’s degree from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1961. Joe served in the Air Force from 1961-1967 and in 2015, he was awarded a medal for his service by Florida Governor Rick Scott.
Joe and his wife, Elise, moved to The Villages in May 2014 from Stamford, Connecticut. Joe loved living in the Villages. He especially loved playing golf, table shuffleboard and spending time with his friends in the community.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala, on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. The family will receive visitors at their home at 1216 Kinsley St., The Villages following the funeral service. A Jewish Prayer Service will be held in the home at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
