A K-9 assisted in the arrest of a man who was found to have heroin and methamphetamine when he was pulled over Thursday morning on County Road 466.
Julian Justin Caccamise, 30, of Coleman, was pulled over shortly before 10 a.m. for not wearing a seatbelt and driving 61 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The traffic stop took place at the access road at Liberty Plaza across from Laurel Manor Recreation Center. A K-9 named “Mace” alerted on the vehicle and a bag containing a substance known as Red Brick, containing methamphetamine and heroin, was discovered.
