Katherine Weiss

Katherine Weiss (née Malanczuk) age 95, of the Arbor Trail Rehab and Nursing Center Inverness, Florida passed away Sunday June 29th, 2014 with her niece Rhonda Scheiterle by her side. Katherine was born in Buffalo, New York on October 6th, 1918, daughter of John and Pauline (née Prohira) Malanczuk. She moved to New York City shortly after her birth with her family. Katherine spent nearly 40 years in the retail business in New York before retiring to Ohio and then to The Villages, Florida. Katherine liked spending time with her brothers and their families and also with her many friends. She was a happy, fun-loving woman who enjoyed life and was rarely seen without a smile. She was an affectionate and generous aunt who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Andrew, Nicholas, Michael Emil and Fred. She is survived by nieces Rhonda Scheiterle of Inverness, Laraine Holmes of Georgia, Barbara Kuzma of Pennsylvania, Paula Malan and Rosemary Malan of Ohio and nephews Rick Malanczuk of Texas and Gregg Malanczuk of Lady Lake Fl., and John Malan of Paramus, NJ, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Katherine will be interred next to her parents in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York.
