Lady Lake man arrested after allegedly raiding mother’s checkbook

A 25-year-old Lady Lake man is being held on $16,000 bond after he allegedly raided his mother’s checkbook.

Sean Glenn Rigsby was arrested Monday by Lake County sheriff’s deputies on warrants charging him with eight counts of uttering a forged instrument.

Rigsby’s mother was notified by her bank that between Oct. 19 and Nov. 16, eight of her checks had been written out to Sean Rigsby and appeared to have been signed by her, according to arrest records. The checks totaled $630.

She confronted Rigsby who returned other checks he had taken. She contacted Lady Lake police on Sunday.

Sean Rigsby has a long criminal history. In 2008, he was arrested on a charge of battery. In 2009, he was twice arrested for violating his probation. In 2010, he was charged with violating a court order for protection against domestic violence, resisting a police officer and battery. In 2011, he was again arrested for violating his probation. In 2012, he was arrested on charges of grand theft, dealing in stolen property and obstructing justice.
