A 48-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested on a felony drug charge after a woman reported to police that the man had tried to take her cell phone.

The woman told police on Thursday that David Caruso had grabbed her arm during the struggle and left scratch marks, according to the arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Police officers went to the residence on Sunshine Avenue to talk to Caruso who began calling the officers a derogatory name. They found a pill on Caruso determined to be Valium, the arrest report indicated.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and a misdemeanor charge of battery. Bond was set at $3,000.
