Lake County man dies after pickup leaves roadway, hits guardrail

A 30-year-old Lake County man died after his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a guardrail Thursday afternoon in Orange County.

Samuel Peterson of Tavares had been at the wheel of a 2013 Ford pickup at 1:15 p.m. Thursday on State Road 429 attempting to exit onto U.S. 192  when he lost control of the truck and struck a guardrail, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck went on to strike a tree.

Peterson died at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
