Lakeland man killed in motorcycle accident on I-95

A 28-year-old Lakeland man was killed in a motorcycle accident at 6:50 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 95 in Volusia County.

Christopher Straub was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson northbound on I-95 at Mile Marker 275 when he lost control of the motorcycle which then left the roadway and struck a guardrail, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Straub was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner.

The FHP report noted that Straub had not been wearing a helmet.
