Rogelio Ramirez, 29, of Lakeland, was driving a 2015 Hyundai Accent northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75 south of Gibsonton Drive, when he was believed to have possibly entered exit 240 incorrectly, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. Omar Lloyd Carty, 42, of Brandon was driving a semi trailer truck southbound when he attempted to steer away from Ramirez’s wrong-way vehicle, the report stated.
