A local landscaper was jailed on $16,000 bond after he was found to be in possession of heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine.
Jeremy Kent Hicks, 27, of Oxford, on Monday morning pulled out of a driveway at a high rate of speed and failed to yield or stop, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A K-9 alerted on Hicks’ vehicle, leading to the discovery of the drugs and drug paraphernalia. It was also determined that Hicks’ license was suspended.
Hicks told a deputy that he has “a bad drug problem” and that the drugs were for his personal use.
A passenger in Hicks’ vehicle, 25-year-old Zachary Holly of Oxford, was found to be in possession of a glass pipe used for smoking narcotics. He was already on probation. You can read about his 2015 arrest HERE and his two arrests in 2016 HERE and HERE.
Both men were booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
