A landscaping truck crashed into a tree north of Del Webb Spruce Creek on Monday afternoon.

Marion County Fire Rescue units from Summerfield Station #30 and Weirsdale Station #27 were dispatched at 4:48 p.m. to Del Webb Spruce Creek on U.S. Hwy. 441.

Units arrived on scene in a little more than two minutes to find a landscaping truck that crashed into a tree, just north of the Del Webb entrance. Ladder 30’s lieutenant established command, called for additional units referencing heavy extrication. The driver of the truck was declared a trauma alert. Crews worked quickly to free him from the wreckage and transported him to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
