The Villages Tea Party will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 7 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. This is an open meeting and no Villages ID is required.
The meeting will feature two speakers:
• Juan Torres is the founder of the Latino American Tea Party, an organization created to inform, educate and unite Hispanics. He also brought together several state and national organizations to form the American Hispanic Coalition.
• Frank deVarona at age 17 participated in the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba. After the defeat, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison and served two years. After his liberation, he came to the United States and received three college degrees. He is the author of “America in Decline” in addition to other books.
