Leesburg couple escapes injury when vehicle and camper trailer crash

A Leesburg couple escaped injury when their vehicle, which had been towing a camper trailer, crashed, partially blocking traffic on Interstate 75 in Columbia County.

Kenneth Paul Jepson, 68, had been driving a 2007 Nissan Armada at 11:30 a.m. on I-75 at Mile Marker 419 when the  26-foot Fleetwood camper trailer he was towing began to sway. Jepson lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle and trailer overturned, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The middle and outside lanes of traffic were blocked for approximately one hour, the FHP report indicated.

Jepson and a passenger, 63-year-old Marie Juanita Jepson, escaped injury.

He was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
