Leesburg police looking for suspects in armed robbery at Burger King

Leesburg police are looking for a pair of suspects in an armed robbery which occurred Wednesday night at Burger King on U.S. Hwy. 441.

Burger King employees told police that two black males entered the restaurant near Home Depot in Leesburg at closing time and forced them into the freezer after obtaining money and personal items. Two of the employees were also struck in the head with a handgun.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches, wearing an Old Navy shirt, blue jeans, and a disguise over his face/head. The second suspect was described as a black male, 6-feet 1-inch to 6-feet 2-inches, weighing 215 to 230 pounds, wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans, and also covering his face/head.

Due to the similarities between this incident and a previous robbery at McDonald’s in Mount Dora, Leesbug Police Department detectives are working with the Mount Dora Police Department to compare notes and evidence.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Leesbug Police Department detectives at 352.728.9862.
