Leroy C. Nowakowski, 81, Leesburg, Florida, passed away on February 8, 2016 at The Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Florida. Mr. Nowakowski was born on April 8, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to his parents Alfred Nowakowski and Amanda (Spath) Nowakowski. Mr. Nowakowski was a former Telecommunications Switchman for New Jersey Bell for over 30 years. He and his wife Joan moved to Florida 10 years ago from Trenton, New Jersey and were members of St. Pauls’ Catholic Church in Leesburg, Florida. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a private pilot and had owned his own airplane. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years: Joan Nowakowski of Leesburg, FL; a son: Gerald (Ginger) Nowakowski of Medford, NJ; a daughter: Nancy (Bruce) Aust of Winter Garden, FL; a brother: Gordon Nowakowski of St. Francis, WI; three grandchildren: Nicole, Macy and Christopher Aust and several nieces and nephews.
