To the Editor:
Your article about my opponent’s defense of the new recreation center in Santiago disturbed me as it did not provide for the counter discussion. Here it is: the decision to buy was rushed; various independent appraiser’s recommendations were ignored; an AAC member’s request to table the item for further review was ignored (an unheard of event); the Developer was overpaid without a specific plan for the property’s use; residents overwhelmingly wanted a restaurant, not a recreation center; the committee appeared unaware the contract prohibited a restaurant. How is all that in the best interests of the residents?
