To the Editor:
According to many sources, the most common way to have your credit card number stolen is to have a waitress/waiter copy your card. I have had my card compromised twice in the past 6 months, very possibly by a restaurant employee. In Europe, and many other places world-wide, a clerk or waiter never takes your card away from the table or counter. I am not accusing the many fine retail employees here in The Villages, the vast majority of whom are honest people. At the same time, this would be a good place to start a better practice. Restaurant Managers, process the cards at the table!
