To the Editor:
On Tuesday, September 2nd at 10:30 a.m., my peace and quiet was broken by the sound of breaking glass. Alas, a golf ball found the window on the north, east side of our home. I told myself that it was bound to happen sooner or later. I went out to pick up the glass and I thought, to accept an apology from the player with the horrendous hook. Then my faith in my fellow golfers was given a shake as the foursome ignored me. When I told the two golfers in the waste next to my house that a ball just now broke my window, they looked at me like I had two heads. They implied that it must have been one of the other members of the foursome who were out in the middle of the fairway. No one came over to apologize. Later, I learned that this foursome was playing in the men’s tournament. I trust the hooker hit a provisional ball and took the penalty. In any event, as the snowbirds will soon be returning, I think it’s time for the pros to campaign players to remember their golf etiquette.
