Marine Corps League Scolarship Fundraiser

The Villages Marine Corps League Detachment 1267, the Colonel Phillip C. Delong Detachment, completed both nights of the 8th Annual Couples Moonlight Golf Benefit Tournament last week in good weather, with all proceeds going to the Scholarship Fund. This Leadership Scholarship benefits graduating Village High School seniors and qualifying Marine Corps League family members. Colonel Fred Geier, MCL Leadership Scholarship committee chairman, said, “This tournament was such a success, we have already surpassed last year’s goal and have raised over $5700 at this outing for the 2015 Scholarship Fund. Our goal was to have some fun and make some money for our leadership scholarship fund and we surpassed those goals on both accounts.” The two night event was held on Thursday and Saturday last week with 120 people participating in the event.
