Letter to the Editor: Police Officers

To the Editor:

Last week a huge crash woke us out of a sound sleep. We were sure someone was in the house and broke something. Being ages 63 & 70, we were not about to confront whoever was in our home. While one of us called 911, the other loaded our .22 – we locked the bedroom door and stayed on the phone until the police arrived. Their response was very quick, 4 cops showed up, they thoroughly checked the house, garage and yard, finding nothing. With gratitude and relief we thanked them and they left. The next morning I discovered what the crash was … my electric toothbrush and holder disconnected from the shower wall and loudly fell onto the shower seat and then the footbath container and finally coming to rest on the shower floor. For all the stupid calls our police force answers, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.
