To the Editor:
Has Spanish Springs been overtaken by ghosts? Yesterday afternoon a friend and I browsed through the square. Since the entertainment was scheduled to begin in 40 minutes, we decided to stay and enjoy it. Alas, there were more empty seats than those occupied, but whole rows were roped off or adorned with cushions, scarves, hats and the like. Nowhere could we find two seats together that hadn’t been “reserved.” As far as I know, this is totally inappropriate and downright rude. Surely the entertainment department can find a way to discourage this, but peer pressure will help as well. If you want a good seat, come early and stay. Otherwise, do not expect it to be empty when you return. This way, we can all have a chance to enjoy the show.
