Letter to the Editor: Street Legal Golf Carts

To the Editor:

Rather than participating in the discussion of Morse Boulevard traffic problems and their solution, I would offer my opinion on the current regulations about Street Legal Golf Carts which are limited to 25 miles per hour. I believe the most dangerous aspect of those regulations is that the vehicles are permitted on roads with speed limits of more than 25 miles per hour. It is ludicrous! I submit that most accidents happen when vehicles are passing other vehicles. In this case, ANY car or truck that wishes to travel at the legal speed limit MUST pass the Street Legal Golf Cart. That is asking for an accident. I believe the law should be changed and would appreciate any comments explaining the contrary.
