Lifelong Learning College lawsuit about accessibility, not money

To the Editor:

Actually it is not about money to pay damages to the plaintiffs. The lawsuit is about ACCESSIBILITY and RIGHTS for Deaf students enrolling and taking classes at the college as required by numerous federal laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act. This closing is a way to make many Villagers turn their hate on Deaf Villagers and make us not welcome to many functions. Don’t be surprised if the Department of Justice rules against the Villages and Charter School for blatant discrimination and fines them millions of dollars.
The simple solution is just follow what federal laws require and provide reasonable accommodations without sacrificing exorbitant expenses on lawyers fighting a losing battle. You will see that paying for interpreters is much, much less than spending a fortune fighting the lawsuit.
