A local pharmacy technician is free on $22,000 bond following her arrest on drug charges.

Maureen Shaughnessy, 56, of Summerfield, was taken into custody Thursday by Lake County sheriff’s deputies on felony charges of theft of a controlled substance and trafficking in hydrocodone. She was arrested in Eustis but had previously worked at the Walgreens at Rolling Acres Road and U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in The Villages.

She is due for arraignment Oct. 24 in Lake County Court.
