Local tree company saves cat stuck in tree for 13 days

A Belleview woman whose cat was stuck in a tree next to her home for 13 days is relieved that a local tree company was able to come to her rescue.

Shirley Griggs, who’s cat “Zoey” ran up the tree earlier this month, tried contacting the local fire department, tree service companies, and a tree climber and none were able to help her rescue the cat from the 60-foot tall tree.

After buying a couple ladders to no avail and trying to shake the cat out of the tree, Griggs took to the internet to help solve her problem. That’s when Anderson Tree Care came to the rescue.

Owner/operator Joey Anderson volunteered his tree climbing services and, after assessing the situation the night before, showed up in the morning and got Zoey down and back into the arms of her loving owner within a matter of minutes.

Joey Anderson, owner/operator of Anderson Tree Care, hands “Zoey” back to her owner, Shirley Griggs, after rescuing her from a 60-foot tree that she was stuck in for 13 days.

“I was amazed watching him go through the tree limbs in person. It was like watching a spider monkey in human form. I’ve never seen anything like it!” said Griggs of the encounter.

Anderson Tree Care is a tree care company based in Ocala that specializes in dangerous and hazardous limb removal, and “saving cats one hair at a time,” according to Joey Anderson.
