SUMMERFIELD – Lona L. Kennedy, 73, passed from this life, Sunday, September 8, 2013. Born in Goshen, IN, she was the daughter of the late Colin and Virginia (McClish)  Bowser. Lona was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and home maker. She was most proud of her husband of 55 years, Ronald and her children. Her family was  everything to her. She enjoyed Country & Western music, was an avid reader and wrote poetry. She was a Christian woman who came to Summerfield from Delphi, Indiana in 010. Sadly, she was predeceased by a son, Martin David Kennedy in 1988. Lona leaves  her husband, Ronald Kennedy, former CEO of Carroll County Utility REMC, of Summerfield, daughters, Margo McQueen of Fort Myers, FL, Melissa Phegley of Lafayette, IN, son, Jack Kennedy of Carmel, IN, a brother, James Bowser of Goshen, IN and two grandchildren, Kegan Pinelli and Noah Phegley. The family will receive relatives and friends at a Gathering to be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Hiers-Baxley  Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
