Loretta Theresa Akerley, 74 of The Villages, FL, formally of Irvine, CA, was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 24, 1942. She was married to her best friend and lifelong companion George Akerley in 1963.
Loretta was a member of the Ladies Fellowship at the Chapel of Christian Faith. She enjoyed her Tuesday Ladies Prayer Group, spending time with George and her friends and family.
Loretta is survived by her husband George; her son, Paul Akerley and his wife Martha of Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Phyllis Sabatella of Howard Beach, NY; brother, Jim Paso of San Antonio, TX; grandsons; Matthew and Joshua Akerley of Fredericksburg, VA; granddaughters, Courtney Iden of Partlow, VA; and Caitlin Carpenter of Fredericksburg, VA; five great grandchildren; her nephew, Nicholas Denza and his wife Barbara of The Villages, FL and many other extended family and friends in The Villages and throughout the United States.
The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held on Sunday , October 23, 2016 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages from 2 – 4 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m.
