Louisiana Club celebrates with 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball

The Louisiana Club’s 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball was held at The Villages’ Lake Miona Recreation Center on Saturday, Feb. 22. President Ron Schexnider and The Krewe of Ra welcomed the legendary Buccaneer Jean Lafitte and his entourage.
Krewe of Ra, 2013 King & Queen Jim & Jeanette Ross, of the Village of Sabal Chase surrendered their reign to 2014 King & Queen Richard & Geri Calais, of the Village of Hacienda South, and originally from Thibodaux, La.
King Richard & Queen Geri proclaimed the event a night of merriment, feasting, and dancing. His subjects enthusiastically obeyed. All the kings subjects enjoyed a royal feast prepared & served by his royal caterers “SonRise Cafe'” The royal band ” The Porch Dogs” played Cajun & Swamp Pop music which was enjoyed by all. Some guest were lucky to win gifts donated by Tabasco and everyone was given a Pirate’s Booty Bag and a gift of seasonings donated by Cajun’s Choice.
Subjects were dressed as Egyptians and Pirates while others wore formal attire.
President Ron Schexnider, King Richard & Queen Geri would like to thank all members of the Louisiana Club for making 2014 Mardi Gras Ball a great success. A special Thank You to the event decorating committee for turning Lake Miona into New Orleans for a special Mardi Gras night.
