To the Editor:
I believe someone in Janet Tutt’s kingdom, or perhaps she herself, needs to do a thorough drive by of all the “Common Areas.” The recreation centers, mailbox pools, outside the villas, the multi-modal paths, and of course the streets and thoroughfares. The landscape of The Villages is very lovely, one of the many things that attracted us to it. But the landscape contractors, are either getting away with murder, or their contracts are very poorly written.
Though the grass is mowed with on a regular, perhaps rigid schedule, the trimming is not. And anything cut, is blown off the pavement. Then the wind blows it where? Is it any wonder the sewers are clogged, perhaps causing the tunnel flooding? If they are being paid to trim more often and REMOVE trimmings, we are being screwed. And screwed again, when we pay them AGAIN to come clean up after the storm. We are very fortunate to not have been hit as bad as south Florida, but this is a good opportunity to assess not only the landscape maintenance regs, but also the maintenance, (or lack there of) of the sewers.
