Man accused of pulling knife in argument over grandmother’s belongings

An arrest report indicates that a man who was arrested with a knife Friday in Fruitland Park, had been arguing with relatives over dividing up their grandmother’s property.

John Daniel Aspinwall, 34, of Fruitland Park, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a knife after Lake County sheriff’s deputies were called to 36005 Timber Top Lane. Aspinwall had allegedly threatened a family member with a 12-inch knife while they were dividing up items that had belonged to their grandmother who passed away a few hours earlier.

He is already facing a charge of exposure of sexual organs in Sumter County after he allegedly flashed a woman at Colony Plaza shopping center in October.
