Man accused of wielding box cutter at Buffalo Ridge Wal-Mart parking lot

A man was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault after he was accused of threatening a woman with a box cutter in the parking lot of Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge shopping plaza.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to the parking lot at about 9 p.m. Dec. 23. A woman told them that Andrew Donald Allen, 30, of Summerfield, had gotten angry when their car would not start.

She told deputies that he had cursed at her, called her names and pointed a box cutter at her in a threatening manner.

Allen was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was held without bond.
