A man desperate for drugs has been arrested after he allegedly tried to forcibly remove a woman’s ring so that he could pawn it.
Kevin P. Lipinski, 24 of Ocala, and the victim got into a verbal argument Friday over Lipinski wanting money for drugs, according to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. While at their residence, the argument escalated when Lipinski grabbed a large butcher knife and began making stabbing motions toward the victim, saying he would cut her up, the report stated. The victim said she thought Lipinski was going to stab her and was in fear for her life. She said she did not immediately contact law enforcement because Lipinski told her if she did, he would cut her and her son up into pieces.
The argument continued Saturday when Lipinski demanded the victim’s jewelry so he could pawn it to get money for drugs, according to the report. When the victim refused to give Lipinski the jewelry, Lipinski grabbed the victim by the arm, against her will, and attempted to remove a ring from her left hand. When Lipinski could not get the ring off of her hand, he then began trying to take the bracelet off of her left wrist. The victim said Lipinski was pulling on her arm and refusing to let her go. Lipinski was unable to remove the jewelry from the victim before the two were separated by a neighbor. The victim refused medical treatment and had no visible injuries. Lipinski fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival.
Lipinski eventually tuned himself in at the Marion County Jail on Monday. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery.
