Man already on probation arrested on DUI charge after leaving Shamrock Lounge in Leesburg

A 23-year-old Ocklawaha man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after leaving the parking lot of the Shamrock Lounge in Leesburg early Friday morning.

Eliazar Saul Alvarez had been driving erratically before he was stopped by a Leesburg police officer. Alvarez said he had consumed “one and a half” drinks at the bar.

He failed field sobriety exercises and refused to take a breath test. He was already on probation on a drug charge.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail.
