Man arrested after allegedly trying to leave with nearly $500 in merchandise at Wal-Mart

A 35-year-old Ocklawaha man was arrested after allegedly trying to leave with nearly $500 in merchandise at Wal-Mart in Summerfield.

Curtis M. Blackwell was stopped by a loss prevention officer on Sunday when he was trying to leave the store. He had $489.57 in merchandise which he had tried to take with him from the store, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

He was arrested on a charge of grand theft and booked at the Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $2,000.
