Man arrested with marijuana in parking lot at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge

A 28-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening at the parking lot at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge shopping plaza on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Andrew Timothy Santiago of Umatilla was pulled over for having a large crack in his windshield, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He also was not wearing a seatbelt.

A K-9 named Diesel alerted on his vehicle. A marijuana cigarette was discovered in the ashtray of the vehicle. A cellophane cigarette wrapper in the center console was also found to contain marijuana. And a cigar package in the passenger side door was also found to contain marijuana.

Santiago was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
