A 31-year-old man arrested Tuesday morning when he parked at a business in The Villages was being sought in an attack on his ex-girlfriend days earlier in the Oakland Hills subdivision.
Daniel Joseph Coop parked his Ford Escort shortly after 10 a.m. in the parking lot of a dermatology office at 1521 Buenos Aires Blvd. and was spotted by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.
Coop was being sought in a Nov. 3 attack on his ex-girlfriend, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office. He allegedly kicked in her door, tore a television off the wall, pushed her to the floor and attempted to choke her, the report indicated.
He was arrested on charges of burglary, battery, criminal mischief and driving while license suspended.
He was being held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
