Man charged with stealing truck, pawning generator, compressor

A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in the theft of a truck and tools from a business in Wildwood.

Joshua Franklin Best of Wildwood is accused of taking a truck May 14 from Aluminum Concepts located on U.S. 301.

Nine hours after taking the truck, Best went to Value Pawn in Leesburg and pawned a generator and compressor that had been in the truck, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The items were later identified at the pawn shop by personnel from Aluminum Concepts.

Best was arrested on a charge of grand theft at his home on Young Circle.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $2,000 bond.
