A 34-year-old Fruitland Park man already facing a charge of exposing himself last October at Colony Plaza shopping center, has been been arrested on a new charge.

John Daniel Aspinwall was arrested Friday by Lake County sheriff’s deputies on a charge of aggravated assault with a knife. Jail records indicate it was a domestic matter. He was being held this weekend at the Lake County Jail on $1,000 bond.

Aspinwall had been placed on the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office’s “Most Wanted” list following the flashing incident in late October.

A woman told deputies that she came out of the Beall’s store and walked to her vehicle only to discover she had car trouble. She spotted a man sitting in a nearby PT Cruiser and walked over to ask him for help. That is when he allegedly exposed himself.

The woman shouted at the man that she was going to call law enforcement and he drove away.

She later identified Aspinwall out of a photo lineup and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The charge of exposure of sexual organs is pending in Sumter County Court.
