Sheriff’s deputies were called Thursday to the home of 66-year-old Gary Guy on Marion County Road in Weirsdale after he stepped in front of the Mini Cooper when the woman tried to leave, according to an arrest report.

She reportedly ran over his foot.

She then stopped at a gate to get out to talk to Guy who took the keys out of the car and threw them into a neighbor’s yard, according to the report. When she went to retrieve the keys, he tackled her to the ground. As he held her on the ground, she was able to scratch at him.

The deputy noted the woman had bruises and what appeared to be a small bite on her left shoulder.

The woman said if she ran over Guy’s foot, it was not intentional.

He was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the jail.
