A 25-year-old man who was clocked driving at 72 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone on State Road 44 was arrested Saturday morning for driving without a license.

David Jimenez Domingo was driving a van with a Missouri license plate when he was pulled over at about 8 a.m. at State Road 44 and Continental Boulevard, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

He did not speak English. However, the deputy spoke Spanish and learned that Domingo was born in Guatemala and has never had a driver’s license in the United States.

Domingo was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
