Adrian Anderson, 22, of Ocala has been charged with burglary and grand theft in the theft of pit bulls in Ocala.

On June 9, law law enforcement had been notified that someone took “two adult female pit bull dogs and 15 pit bull puppies” from a home along N.W. 49th Avenue in Ocala. The value of the dogs equaled $950.

Detectives received a tip that led them to a home along S.E. 66th Street in Ocala.

Detectives learned that Anderson delivered 10 dogs to this home.

An eyewitness told detectives Anderson claimed the dogs as his own and wanted to keep the dogs on that property for an undetermined length of time. Detectives had enough evidence identifying the dogs as the animals stolen from the home along N.W. 49th Avenue. Detectives called the owners who took possession of the 10  dogs. No word  on the location of the other seven dogs.

Detectives located Anderson at his home address and he was arrested. Anderson was booked into the Marion County Jail just before 8 p.m. Monday.
