Too many idiots in a hurry

To the Editor:

For the last several years, I have concluded that the best free entertainment in The Villages (particularly during “The Season”) is to take a folding chair and a 6-pack and set up near (but not too close to!) a roundabout (any roundabout) and watch the clowns on the road. You will see sights that chill the soul! It seems to me that there are two primary reasons for the idiocy. The first is that there are too many idiots in such a hurry to get where they are going that they refuse to give up those five seconds or so required to yield the right-of-way; and the second is those idiots that consider the turn-signal lever as nothing more than an ornamental add-on. I would suggest mandatory road tests for every new resident or renter who comes into The Villages. By the same token, I guess that would take all of the fun out of the experience!
