Marcella “Marcie” Mackey Donaldson, 73, Leesburg, FL went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2014 after a long battle with lung cancer. Marcella was very active in Am Vets Auxiliary Post 1992 and a member of Central Baptist Church. She loved her family and always was the “hostess with the mostess”. Her passion was doing good for others and the community. She is predeceased by her parents, Omer and Vivian Mackey, her daughter, Lisa Anne Strawbridge and her soul mate and love of her life, Ford Donaldson. She is survived by her children Teresa Strawbridge Freeman-Murdock (Dave),Leesburg; Jay Strawbridge, (Jeanne), Leesburg; Stepchildren: Joey Donaldson (Roxanne), Groveland; Michael Donaldson (Pamela), Groveland; Alvin Donaldson, (Sheila), Groveland; Vickie Donaldson Hall (Johnny), Groveland; Sister Gayle Mackey Jernigan, Leesburg and Brother Terry Mackey, Sebastian. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church, Main Street, Leesburg, on Saturday, 9/27/14 at 10:30 a m , with a luncheon to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Red Cross, as they were diligent in helping to have her grandson, Dakota Freeman, who is in the Navy aboard the USS America, to be able to call home from his ship to speak with her.
