Mary Arlene Winchester, age 89, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Oxford, Florida. Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to the Oxford area in 2011 from Vero Beach, Florida. She was a homemaker and attended Faith Presbyterian Church of Oxford. She was also a member of the Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan where she was very active participating in the choir and Sunday school. Those closest to Mary will be remembered by those closest to her for her sweet, kind and loving personality. She was happiest when she was outdoors listening to the birds, and spending time in her flower garden. She loved to sing and was a member of the “Sweet Adeline’s singing group for many years. Mary also enjoyed crossword puzzles and was known to be one of the best.
She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years – Edward Lawrence Winchester. She leaves behind to cherish her memory 3 daughters – Shirley A. Yanachik of The Villages, Florida; Jeanne L. Roe of Tavares, Florida; and Dianne E. Kanaby of Macomb, Michigan; 2 brothers – James Wright of Washington Township, Michigan; and William Wright of Wayne, Michigan; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
All services will be held in Michigan and she will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
