Mayor Richards will continue to lead Lady Lake Commission

Mayor Jim Richards

Mayor Jim Richards will continue to lead the Lady Lake Commission.

He was nominated Monday night for another two-year term by Commissioner Ruth Kussard. Her motion was seconded by Commissioner Tony Holden, who was also sworn in after winning another term. He ran without opposition.

Kussard said Richards has been an “excellent” mayor.

Richards, a resident of the Village of Country Club Hills, was first named mayor in 2008 after the death of then-Mayor Max Pullen.

He has served as mayor since 2008, with the exception of two years during which Kussard wielded the gavel. She will continue to serve as mayor pro-tem.
