Metro Diner announces opening date, local group to get special sneak preview

Metro Diner will open its doors in late September.

The eatery going in at the former Perkins restaurant location on Wedgewood Lane in Buffalo Ridge Plaza has announced a tentative opening date of Sept. 26. Interior work at the restaurant is nearly complete.

Exterior signage has already gone up at the restaurant.

Supporters of the Helping Hands outreach ministry of New Covenant United Methodist Church will be getting a special sneak preview at Metro Diner a few days before its planned opening.

The event set for Sept. 23 is a fundraiser for Helping Hands and will also benefit the House of Hope.
