Michael ‘Mike’ Dennis Boardman

Michael “Mike” Dennis Boardman, 72, of Summerfield, FL, passed away Saturday April 18, 2015. He had just moved back to Florida from Alabama to join his son Michael and other family members. Mike was born in Los Angeles, California. He served his country in the US Army and became a pioneer in the Helicopter Industry. He married Suzie Perez and they had two children, Michael and Kimberly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Lloyd Boardman. He is survived by his son, Michael Boardman, Summerfield; daughter, Kimberly Whisman, Valrico, Florida; six granddaughters, Amanda, Michaella, Stephanie, Emily, Megan, Madison and Marley; former wife, Suzie Perez, Summerfield; identical twin sisters, Judith Ann Sanders, California and Nancy Irene Demarest, Alabama; brother, Wayne Allen Boardman, Washington, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday April, 23, 2015 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, Florida. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association.
