Michael Patrick Cafferty

Michael Patrick Cafferty ,age 83, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in Lady Lake, Florida. Michael was born on May 2, 1931 in New York City. Mike was a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War, a Merchant Marine who then went on to become a firefighter in New York City for 30 years. Michael was a member of the American Legion post 347, the VFW, The North Central Florida all Airborne Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Assoc., the Retired Police and Firefighters Assoc. and the Knights of Columbus 836. Michael is pre deceased by his son Darren J Cafferty and his wife Margaret Mary Cafferty who passed away on 6/26/14. He is survived by his children Michael P. Cafferty Jr., his wife Janine and their two daughters, Erin and Brenna Cafferty of North Carolina, his daughter Stacia Mary Calabrese ,her husband Joseph and their three sons Daniel, Matthew and Colin Calabrese of Brick, New Jersey. A funeral service will be held at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with a gathering of friends and family from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 1:00 p.m.
