Minnesota motorcyclist killed in collision with vehicle driven by Summerfield woman

A Minnesota motorcyclist was killed in a collision Wednesday afternoon with a vehicle driven by a Summerfield woman.

Thomas D. Dunkle, 58, of Monticello, Minn. was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 4:51 p.m. at County Road 42 and SW 105th Avenue in Marion County.

He had been westbound on County Road 42 when 59-year-old Christina E. Jones of Summerfield driving a 2016 Kia Soul did not see the motorcycle and made a left turn in front of the 2012 Harley-Davidson, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle slid into the vehicle.

Marion County Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced Dunkle dead.

Jones was not injured.
