Motorcyclist killed in Marion County accident

A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 484 in Marion County.

Bryson Michael Glunt of Ocala was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m. by Marion County Fire Rescue at the scene of the accident.

Glunt’s motorcycle was negotiating a curve and crossed the double solid yellow line and entered the westbound lane of CR484 where the motorcycle collided with a 2013 Toyota Prius driven by Marvin Jay Lax, 65, also of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Glunt was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the FHP report indicated.

Lax and a passenger in his vehicle, 69-year-old Joetta Ray Lax of Navarre, both suffered minor injuries and were transported to West Marion Community Hospital.
